Book Four of "The Sword of Truth", the series first begun in "Wizard's First Rule", returns listeners to the world of Richard Cypher, a simple woods guide who never dreamed he would be named the Seeker of Truth and become caught up in magic, war, and dangers so extraordinary that the fate of his entire world would hang on his actions and decisions.

The dangerous, fanatical Imperial Order, under the leadership of the power-mad Emperor Jagang and his multitude of demonic underlings, unleashes a deadly plague. To find a cure Richard Cypher and his beloved Kahlan Amnell must seek out the legendary Temple of the Winds, a fortress of evil sealed away for three thousand years. But the path of the Seeker of Truth is never an easy one - even if he can reach the Temple at all, there is no guarantee he'll ever return.

1 stars Worst narration ever, Beware!
The first 2 books of the series as narrated by jim bond were magnificant, he pronounced all the named correctly and it was easy to get enveloped into the series by listening to it, even the 3rd book as read by Buck Schirner was enticing and he followed Jim Bond's narrative pronunciations as it should be... but this book as ready by Dick Hill was the worst yet... from his absurd echo impersonations(you can tell he was yelling away from the microphone) to his mis-pronunciation of Kahlan, he says her name in some screwed up version that sounds like "Collin" instead of Kay-lin as i have heard from every other book... this threw me off from the get-go and has ruined the experience of this fabulous book. The story is a masterpiece but the narration brings it down to a 1 star.... according to Dick Hill's narration, everyone in the book has either a old english or russian accents... he is imposing his own european accents into the beloved characters of a world not meant to mimic it. I thoroughly enjoy listening to books but this one i had to stop and read instead, it was too unbearable. There are characters in this book that have been in the last 2 whos voice and accent and moods he has totally changed... i do not like it at all.

5 stars I loved his reading
I think Dick Hill knows how to bring all of his characters to life. Yes, it was a little confusing when he first pronounced Kahlin; however, I think it flows much better and gives her a etheral quality. With Mr. Hill, you can distinguish the characters and at least his women characters sound like women. I've read all of his Michael Connelly books and wish he had been able to do the whole series. I only wish he did more of the sword of truth series. I can lose myself into the story when he tells it. The other narrators are good too, I just have a soft spot for Mr. Hill -- he is so good at what he does. As for the book; as in the whole series, I just loved Temple of the Wind and, as in all Mr. Goodkind's books, you just want to punch something when he twists and turns the stories the way he does. A sure sign of a really good author. Thank you for Kahlan and Richard (and of course, Zed!) What a great series!
